Improving the practice question answer ( NOT FINISHED )

harper lee presents miss maudie’s viewpoint by using speech and the semantics of those words .

Miss Maudie shows a religious or Christian view of Maycomb , she also says the people of Maycomb helped, which jem at first does not agree with.we can tell he disagrees with by using this quote “who in this town did one thing to help Tom Robinson , just who ?” he said this because he does not think that the citizens in Maycomb actually helped at all in this trial . this could be because the people helped in a more subtle way than he could see .

Miss Maudie’s view is that the people in Maycomb are good , and also that they helped during the Tom Robinson’s trial , which isnt entirely true. A quote to support this is “were the safest folks in the world ” , by this she is saying that they are , or at least she thinks they’re the safest people in the world .  This is said ironically and satirises maycomb .

jem’s view of maycomb is more depressed and less positive about it .a quote that helps to prove this is “its like bein a caterpillar in a cocoon, that’s what it is “
