I am going to be talking about Boo or Arthur radley as a mockingbird. Boo radley was accused of attacking his father after being abused by him for years , this may have been in an attempt to escape his father , in the end Mr radley took the punishment into his own hands . Boo ended up staying in the house for years until his father died .Nathan radley then took over . The abuse that he suffered is hinted at in the book “The things that happen to people we never really know. What happens in houses behind closed doors, what secrets” , this means we don’t really know what is happening in the household and could be hinting that boo radley may not have been the aggresor , but the victim .
Another example would be that we don’t really know what happened to boo radley as a child , and neither do the citizens of maycomb , most of the things they say about him are made up and the townsfolk blame him for the unfortunate events that happen in maycomb throughout the book and always seem to think he is the bad guy .
Boo radley is a nice person , he is kind and innocent . he did many good things in the book to show this , Boo gave Jem and scout some things that could potentially be worth something to him to show their friendship . he repaired Jems broken trousers after he broke them .boo radley did nice things , but only a group of people noticed this , they are Jem , Atticus , scout , Heck Tate and miss Maudie Atkinson .
A quote to show this would be from miss maudie “Mockingbirds don’t do one thing but make music for us to enjoy . . . but sing their hearts out for us. That’s why it’s a sin to kill a mockingbird” this explains what boo radley did , he tried his hardest to make friends and to be nice to people , yet he was blamed for things he didn’t even do .so way he is treated is wrong,(if he is a mockingbird) , this is because people do not notice what he does and how great he is , therefore he is treated wrong for what he has done and what he is doing .
i could include one more point , but it would be a spoiler for people who haven’t reached that far in the book yet .
